Let’s find out what’s new in Blockstudio 6.0:

  • New Blade Templating Support:
Familiar from the Laravel framework, Blockstudio now allows you to use Blade templates for your Blockstudio blocks. It provides another option alongside PHP and Twig for creating your block views, and offers a clean templating syntax.
  • Contextual llm.txt Generation:
Blockstudio can now automatically generate an llm.txt file at the root of your WordPress installation, helping developers using AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot and Cursor. It provides structured context about all your Blockstudio blocks, greatly improving how AI tools understand them throughout the project. This results in more relevant, accurate and helpful code suggestions and assistance.
  • No-Fetch Block Preloading:
Blockstudio 6.0 has also been optimized for faster block loading in the editor. Whenever possible, blocks are rendered directly on the client side without an initial server call to get their full preview.

Blockstudio 6.0 also comes with several breaking changes. For example, the Timber library is no longer bundled, there is a revamped context engine for InnerBlocks, and Tailwind CSS has been updated to version 4.

End of Lifetime Licenses

Finally, the Blockstudio lifetime licence will be discontinued as of 01. June 2025. Existing customers will of course be grandfathered in. Now is your chance to get your hands on a Blockstudio LTD while they are still available.
