Breakdance Introduces Multi-Element Selection, Variable Fonts & Marquee Text Element
Elias from Breakdance has just announced version 2.8 of the visual website builder for WordPress, currently in beta. Meet multi-element selection, variable fonts, conditional form emails and a new Marquee Text element.
New Features
Let’s take a look at what’s new in Breakdance 2.8:
- Multi-Slement Selection: Press and hold the Cmd/Ctrl key to select multiple elements, then drag them to bulk edit, copy, delete or wrap them in a container.
- Variable Fonts: Upload your own variable fonts or use supported Google Fonts. The weight control feature uses a slider to allow for precise adjustments.
- Conditional Form Emails: Each email template in Form Builder can have its own set of conditions. You can route submissions to different inboxes based on field values.
- Marquee Text Element: New beta element for continuously scrolling text. It supports straight and wave paths.
- Swiper 12 Upgrade: All slider elements have been updated. There is now better touch handling and keyboard navigation.
- Duplicate Button Presets: Instead of rebuilding it, you can now clone an existing preset.
- Rename Global Colours: Give your colour variables meaningful names.
- Name CSS/JS Entries: Create custom names for global stylesheets and scripts.
- Dynamic Data Improvements: The post permalink and title now pull from any post. The video poster image supports dynamic sources.
- New Form Field Validation Filter: Create custom validation logic for form fields using PHP.
In other news, Breakdance has added support for PHP 8.4 and improved performance, enabling faster switching between templates with many dynamic data fields.
