Easy Digital Downloads Now Includes Stripe

Easy Digital Downloads just announced that Stripe is now supported and available for all users. You can now accept credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Microsoft Pay without the need for any separate extension.

EDD + Stripe

As of this update, Stripe is now available to everyone and no longer requires an $89+ / year fee. This means you can start accepting card and mobile payments today with no upfront costs at all.

They are now offering two versions of their Stripe integration:

Stripe Standard (included in EDD core)

• Available to all users, no purchase necessary
• Process credit and debit cards
• Accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Microsoft Pay
• 2% fee added to all transactions

Due to the additional transaction fees of 2%, this option is only interesting for those shops that have very little turnover, i.e. less than $4,450 a year or have just opened a shop and have a limited budget.

Stripe Pro (separate add-on)

• Starts at $89 / year
• Process credit and debit cards
• Accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Microsoft Pay
• Accept and process pre-approved charges
• No per-transaction fee
• Identical to the Stripe add-on we’ve offered before

Note that taxes are not yet supported for mobile pay options.
