Let’s dive right into the new Gumlet features, which include:

  • New Video Editor: Edit your Gumlet-hosted videos directly in the browser by trimming, splitting and adding text. Publish your changes back to the same asset. Your embed links, analytics and settings will remain unaffected.
  • Customizable Subtitles: Subtitles are no longer one-size-fits-all. You can now customize the appearance of your subtitles, including text and background colours and font size. Match them to your brand or optimize them for legibility.
  • Whitelist Countries: You could already block countries. Now, you can restrict playback to only the regions you allow. This is useful for licensed content, regional launches and compliance requirements.
  • Automatic DRM Setup: FairPlay and Widevine credentials are now automatically provisioned the moment you sign up. Every account gets five DRM videos free of charge for evaluation purposes. Scale beyond that for $99 per month on any paid plan.
  • Audit Logs: Organisation owners can now view a complete log of all actions taken within the workspace. They can see who uploaded, deleted or changed settings, and when. This feature is essential for teams that require accountability and traceability.
  • Recycle Bin: Have you deleted a video by mistake? Organisation owners can now recover deleted videos within 30 days. After that, the videos are permanently deleted, but this timeframe is long enough to recover most accidental deletions.

In other news, Gumlet has completely overhauled its video analytics. The old dashboard just gave you numbers. The new one provides answers and updates in real time. Think of it as Google Analytics, but for your videos.
