Nelson from Job Boardly has just announced the release of a new Ultra plan for the no-code job board builder SaaS, which includes messaging and a Headless API.

New Features

Ultra is Job Boardly’s latest plan, designed for larger job boards and teams looking to maximize their potential. As well as including everything in the Pro plan, it offers Messaging, the Headless API and priority support.

Messaging

With Ultra, job board owners can now enable employers and candidates to message each other directly via their job board instead of communicating off-platform via email. When a candidate applies for a job, the employer can message them directly to start a conversation. Both parties receive a messages inbox with live updates as replies come in, as well as email alerts when a new conversation begins.

Messaging also creates a new revenue stream for board owners. Messaging can be added to any of your employer products, enabling employers to pay for the ability to start conversations with candidates on your board. Reading and replying are always free, so candidates can always respond when contacted.

Providing messaging to employers helps to keep the hiring conversation on your board rather than in someone’s inbox, which gives employers and candidates another reason to keep coming back.

Board owners can enable or disable messaging at any time, specify how long messages are stored for, and adjust the limits that protect people from spam. Employers and candidates can block unwanted conversations and report abuse. Board owners can review these reports on the new Abuse Reports page.

Headless API

The new Headless API is now available for Ultra board owners. This allows you to create your own custom front end for your job board using React, Next.js, or any other technology that can read JSON. You can then display your jobs to visitors exactly as you wish. Your Job Boardly board will remain active in the background, so employers can continue to post and pay for jobs there, your imports will keep running and job alerts will still be sent out.

The API serves your board’s jobs, filters, categories, blog posts, pages, navigation and pricing, and accepts job alert sign-ups. No API key is required and it is safe to call from a browser. It also respects your paywall, meaning that signed-in members see the full job feed, just as they do on your hosted board.

This is important if you want complete control over how your board looks and feels or if you want your jobs to be integrated into an existing website rather than being on a separate board. It differs from the Management API on Pro, which is private and enables you to manage your board’s data using an API key. The Headless API is designed for displaying your board on the front end.

Ultra Pricing & Limits

The Ultra plan comes with Job Boardly‘s highest usage limits and allows you to import up to 5,000 jobs every month. The Ultra plan costs $240 per month or $1,920 per year if paid annually.

Alongside Ultra, they have updated all of their plans. Each plan now includes job imports, plus usage limits that suit the size of your board. For now, these changes only apply to new subscriptions. If you’re an existing customer, your plan won’t change today. They’ll be in touch in the coming weeks to explain how the new plans affect existing customers.
