LifterLMS On-Screen & Email Based Notification Engine

LifterLMS ~~are currently working on~~ just added a new powerful on-screen and email based notification engine to their free core WordPress LMS plugin. LifterLMS Notifications allow for “app like” gamification and more advanced customisable system emails.

LifterLMS Notifications

In version 3.8, students can get a basic on-screen notification and/or email notifications.

An example of a basic on-screen notification is an on-screen graphical pop-up. This will be shown once your students have completed certain actions in an online course, such as earning an achievement for instance.

An example of an email notification is a detailed purchase receipt sent to a customer. Email notifications can be sent to basically anyone including teachers, students, and/or other people.

Notifications are different from LifterLMS engagements in that they are global settings for general and not specific actions in your LMS or membership site.

Alpha Testers Wanted

LifterLMS 3.8 ~~is now in public alpha~~ has officially been released. It is ready to be tested and experimented with by early adopters, developers and “power” LifterLMS users.

You can test the new LifterLMS notifications engine in your staging environment by downloading the alpha version via GitHub.

Please note, that LifterLMS 3.8 alpha is not officially supported through the public support channels and should not be used in any live production environments.

Once LifterLMS 3.8 alpha and beta testing is complete, it will be released to the general public and be officially supported. All communication during the 3.8 alpha will be done via GitHub only.
