Since day one, Ubuntu has been the only way to access a Ploi server. From today onwards, every Ploi user will be able to set up a brand-new server on either Debian 12 or Debian 13.

If you’ve been after the reliable, predictable stability that Debian is renowned for — particularly for long-lived servers that you’d rather not monitor — you can now select it directly from the dropdown menu when creating a server.

The server creation process now groups operating systems by distribution. Ubuntu and Debian are displayed together, along with their supported releases, so selecting the base for your next server only takes a single click.

Everything behaves exactly as it does on Ubuntu, inlcluding sites, PHP, databases, queue workers, cron and SSL.

In other news, Ploi expects Ubuntu 26 to be released this month or next!
