Voxel Points – A Full Points System for Voxel Directories

Donald from Code Wattz has launched a new plugin called Voxel Points for the Voxel theme. This gives directory owners a complete points economy, where members can earn rewards for reviews, listings and posts — and spend those points on real listing promotions instead of decorative badges.

What Voxel Points Does

The idea is simple: most gamification stops at the badge, but a badge is just an image. Voxel Points uses the one currency that directory sites already sell: visibility. Members earn points automatically through rules configured by the site owner, climb visible levels and redeem their balance directly in Voxel’s promotion system. This means that a reward genuinely promotes a listing, boosts its search priority or is fulfilled manually, complete with Voxel’s native order-cancellation control.

Main Features

Voxel Points is supplied as a single plugin with no add-ons or feature tiers, and every plan includes the full feature set. The core capabilities include:

• Ten earning rules are built from a site’s own Voxel post types, such as reviews, approved listings, completed orders, timeline posts, comments, follows, registration, profile completion and daily visits with streaks. Every rule is switched off by default until the owner activates it.
• Anti-abuse protections built into the database rather than bolted on afterwards — a unique index blocks duplicate awards, daily caps are enforced per rule and site-wide, and self-action guards prevent members from earning by reviewing or approving their own listings.
• Automatic reversals, so points are clawed back the moment their source disappears. A refunded order, deleted review or rejected listing all trigger a reversal row, and a nightly sweep catches anything missed. History is never rewritten — every change creates a new ledger entry.
  Three reward types are available: listing promotions that can be redeemed straight into a site’s existing Voxel promotion packages; temporary search-priority boosts that are restored automatically upon expiry; and manual fulfilment for anything else, such as newsletter slots, consultations and merchandise. Automatic point refunds are provided if fulfilment fails.
• Levels, badges and streaks. Levels are calculated based on lifetime points earned rather than current balance, meaning that spending points never demotes a member. Badges are awarded once a condition is met and can be awarded retroactively to anyone who qualifies.
• Leaderboards for all-time, monthly or custom rolling periods. The viewing member is always shown their true rank, and there is an option to opt out of the board entirely.
• Eight native Elementor widgets are available: Leaderboard, Points Balance, Rewards Store, Points History, Member Level, Member Badges, How to Earn and Leaderboard Privacy. There are also eleven dynamic tags and eight app events that Voxel Toolkit‘s SMS and push notifications pick up automatically.
• Migration tools to help site owners switch from myCred or a CSV file. These tools can also be used to backdate points for activity that has already taken place on the site. Every import can be previewed and undone with one click and will not give the same action double credit.
• WP-CLI support covering thirteen commands for imports, backfills, expiry, recounts and badge awards, plus full translation support via a single POT file compatible with Loco Translate.

For directory owners already using Voxel, Voxel Points provides a means of converting everyday member activity, such as reviews, listings and engagement, into a self-sustaining loyalty program backed by genuine promotional inventory rather than cosmetic rewards.

Pricing

Voxel Points uses a ‘founding pricing’ model: every plan includes all features, with the only difference between plans being the number of sites that the licence can activate. Founding prices are locked in for as long as a subscription remains active, even if list prices increase at a later date.
