Astra Rolls Out All-New WooCommerce Shopping Experience

The Astra team has been working around the clock for the last 6 months on version 3.9, which offers a completely new shopping experience for WooCommerce shops.

Astra 3.9

To cut a long story short, this update of the Astra theme improves almost every aspect of your WooCommerce shop. From the shop and product page to the shopping cart and checkout page.

Shop Page

They introduced a new Modern skin for the shop archive page including a sticky sidebar with collapsible filters. The options “Add to cart” and “Quick view” become visible when hovering. You can easily customize the layout and even drag and drop card elements for a custom look and feel.

Product Page

Astra has developed three new image gallery options to help your product images stand out to customers. They also added a new ‘Sticky Add-to-Cart’ feature,  payment icons and shipping text, the product’s top highlights in an ordered list, and various new layout options for product descriptions, e.g. horizontal tabs and a distributed layout.

In addition, they redesigned the product quantity selector and introduced a new option to display product variations as buttons.

Cart Page & Off Canvas Cart

The shopping cart page now features a modern and slick layout, real-time quantity adjustments and a sticky cart totals sidebar as well as a new option to change the cart button text. They also rolled out new off canvas cart.

Checkout Page

Astra designed a new modern, frictionless checkout that is optimized for high conversion rates and has a fresh, modern look. You can choose between a one column and two columns checkout. They even replaced the default WooCommerce spinning wheel with a new skeleton loader and added a new option to customize the payment button. Finally, they introduced a sticky order review and account validation.

Thank You & My Account Pages

Of course, the Astra team has also given the Thank You and My Account pages a modern look.

Premium Yet Free Plugins

And as some features were missing in default WooCommerce stores, they have developed two premium plugins that many WooCommerce shops actually need to provide an exceptional user experience. And they are giving them away for free! Meet Variation Swatches for WooCommerce, WooCommerce Cart Abandonment and a Stripe for WooCommerce for express checkout (in collaboration with CartFlows).

Finally, they have introduced three new premium starter templates that come with the best features of Astra and WooCommerce already built-in. That way, you can launch an online shop that converts almost immediately.
