Massive Performance Update

By automatically identifying critical CSS, deferring non-critical styles and reducing the CSS output of the Divi Builder by combining duplicate styles, they have made Divi really smart. They have also added a number of new performance boosting options that will cache and defer various rendering-blocking requests automatically, and remove unneeded resources.

On a test site, they were able to reduce the CSS size by 94%. Using a standard WordPress host and CDN, they were also able to build a WordPress website that scored 100 on Google PageSpeed Desktop, 99 on Google PageSpeed Mobile and 100% on GTmetrix.

Thanks to Divi’s new dynamic PHP framework, dynamic CSS and JavaScript reduction features, the latest updated removes bloat and gives you both the power of a top-notch page builder and the agility of a lightweight theme. Also, the critical CSS system identifies the CSS required to style content above the fold and defers everything else.

Finally, Divi now also caches Google Fonts, optionally loads jQuery asynchronously, and lazy-loads often unused resources. Speaking of, you can also remove unneeded resources such as native WordPress emojis for instance.
