Presto Player 3 Beta Now Available
Adam from Presto Player has just announced the release of version 3.0 of their popular video player plugin for WordPress, currently in beta.
Presto Player 3.0 Beta
For the past 8 months, the Presto Player developers have been working on the next version with five major changes. He also unveiled a new direction for the WordPress video player.
- Any video created on your WordPress site will be synced to the Presto Player Media Hub. Optionally, you can opt out.
- They have reduced the number of blocks from 9 to 2, including the Presto Player and Presto Playlist blocks. When selecting the Presto Player block, you can now choose to add a video, Bunny.net, YouTube Vimeo or audio.
- The Presto Player settings in the Editor have been removed, which previously allowed you to drag and drop videos from the Media Hub into your layout. This option is now included in the single Presto Player block.
- Video settings have been moved from the Editor sidebar to the Media Hub. Any changes you make will automatically be applied to the video, regardless of whether the video is displayed in a single blog post or in a number of blog posts.
- Presto Player now also comes with a new option to create an Instant Video Page, allowing you to quickly share a video on social media for example. As the icing on the cake, you can protect the Media Hub or Instant Video Pages with WordPress membership plugins such as SureMembers.
Presto Player‘s upcoming Instant Playlist Pages, combined with a membership plugin and SureCart (?), will be part of a lightweight online course system.
