New: Community App

PWA Settings

Now, your members can install your community as a PWA app on their mobile devices. They will see your icon on their home screen with your name underneath, and there will be no browser bar wrapped around your content. A new ‘Install App’ entry has been added to the portal sidebar. Your member just has to tap it once and that’s it — the whole setup process is complete.

In the PWA settings, you can set your app name, a short name for the label under the icon, a splash screen colour for when it loads and upload your own app icon. Additionally, the app follows your community theme, whether light or dark, and the title bar adapts accordingly.

Sort Direction

Let’s take a quick look at what else is new in FluentCommunity:

  • Unlisted Posts: They are hidden from every feed and listing, but the direct link works fine. It’s ideal for meeting notes, drafts and information that you only share when asked.
  • Sorting Direction on Member & Student Lists: You can sort by oldest members first, newest members first or alphabetically. It remembers your selection.
  • FluentCRM Bounce Suppression: Community emails will skip addresses that FluentCRM has marked as bounced or complained about. Members will receive a re-confirmation button to switch notifications back on.

In other news, signed plugin updates have been introduced. From now on, your site will verify that any update comes from FluentCommunity before installing it.
